Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow will remain the team's starter next week against the Oakland Raiders, head coach John Fox announced on Monday.
"We've got to see if he can improve and get better in the passing game," Fox said according to The Denver Post. "We're getting to know him better and he's getting to understand the offense better with each one of those snaps."
Tebow struggled in Sunday's 45-10 loss to the Detroit Lions, completing just 18-of-39 pass attempts for 172 yards with a touchdown and an interception, which was returned 100 yards for a touchdown, as the Lions sacked him seven times for -55 yards.
On one of those sacks, in the third quarterback by Cliff Avril, Tebow fumbled, with Avril scooping up the fumble and returning it 24 yards for a touchdown early in the third quarter.
After Sunday's game, Fox had been non-committal about who his starting quarterback would be just two games after replacing Kyle Orton with Tebow. Denver's No. 3 quarterback, Brady Quinn, has not played this season.
